Embraco to boost output at Slovak plant

EMBRACO Slovakia of Spišská Nová Ves plans to produce and sell 4.4 million compressors and condensation units this year, a 30 percent increase on 2005.

The company invested Sk150 million (€4 million) last year to expand and modernize its plant in Slovakia, bringing total investments since the launch of production in Slovakia in March 1998 to over Sk5 billion (€133.3 million), accagency. Embraco Slovakia also plans to increase its output to five million units in two years, company director Carlos Xavier said.

In February Embraco plans to hire 250 people, bringing its payroll to 2,468.
