THE YOUNGEST branch office of a foreign bank in Slovakia belongs to the Czech J&T Banka, and was scheduled to open on March 1. The National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) reported that the branch of the Prague-based bank had completed its trial phase.
"J&T Banka, a foreign bank branch office, met the technical preconditions for participation in the SIPS interbank payment system, and will officially start its operations on March 1," said NBS spokesman Ivan Paška.
The Bratislava regional court recorded the J&T Banka foreign branch office in the commercial register in November 2005. The bank wants to focus on providing private and investment banking services.
