THE NATIONAL Labour Bureau announced that Slovakia's registered jobless rate in February dropped 0.16 percentage points from the month before to 11.66 percent, down 1.42 percentage points from February 2005.
The data, which is based on the number of job seekers able to take a job immediately, said that 298,220 people were out of work at the end of February, 4,085 fewer than in January, and 40,132 fewer than in February 2005, the SITA news wire wrote.The unemployment rate calculated from the total number of job seekers was 13.18 percent at the end of February 2006. Labour offices registered 21,631 new job seekers in February. On the other hand, they erased 26,749 people from the rolls. The average registered unemployed person has been out of work for 11.7 months.
