New Palestinian ambassador presents credentials

THE NEW Palestinian ambassador to Slovakia, Hafiz Fathi al-Nimer, presented his credentials to Slovak Foreign Minister Eduard Kukan on March 22.

At their meeting the diplomats discussed the current situation in Palestine after elections in January 2006, which were won by the radical Islamist movement Hamas.

Kukan and al-Nimer also talked about the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and the situation in the Middle East, the TASR news agency wrote.
