Vallee offers help with army reform

DURING his meeting with Slovak Defence Minister Martin Fedor, US Ambassador to Slovakia Rodolphe Vallee offered to help Slovakia with the transformation of its armed forces.

Fedor and Vallee also spoke about ensuring strategic air transport, which is one of the priorities within NATO, the ministry told the TASR news agency. They also discussed developments in the defence sector and the participation of the armed forces of both countries in peacekeeping missions, especially in Iraq.

The ambassador was also interested in the priorities set by Fedor for his remaining three months in office.

Fedor told Vallee of his initial experience with Slovakia's fully professional army and the army reform in general.
