Ministry berates Belarus

THE SLOVAK Foreign Ministry handed an official protest note to Belarus Ambassador to Slovakia Valery Voronetsky on March 27 expressing Slovakia's views on the conduct of the recent presidential elections in Belarus.

The note denounces measures taken by the Belarus authorities against people taking part in peaceful post-election demonstrations in Minsk.

The ministry called on Belarus to release everyone who was arrested and sentenced based on their political views.
