New theatre building needs another Sk229 million

THE CULTURE Ministry plans to open the new Slovak National Theatre (SND) building officially on January 1, 2007. However, it needs an additional Sk229 million to complete the project, the SME daily wrote.

Therefore, the ministry asked the government to allocate the additional funds. The cabinet should discuss the request at its upcoming sessions.
The construction of the new SND building started during communism in 1985. Over the years, the project already has cost billions of crowns.
