Summer jazz workshop opens

JAZZMEN and those wishing to become one can join the Summer Jazz Workshop held annually by the Slovak Jazz Society. The event takes place between July 3 and 8 at the Nivy House of Culture.

Gabriel Jonáš and Ľubomír Šrámek will teach jazz piano, while Marcel Buntaj and Majo Ševčík will give lectures about drums. Martin Gašpar, Jozef Brisuda and Juraj Griglák will teach bass and double bass and Matúš Jakabčic and Juraj Burian will coach the guitar section. Dušan Húščava, Milo Suchomel and Michal Žáček will educate about the saxophone and Juraj Bartoš the trumpet.

Peter Lipa, Zuzana Suchánková and Berco Balogh will teach singing. And if interest is high, Eddy Portella from Mango Molas will come to teach percussion.
