Labour Minister Tomanová: Pension reform has many sore points

THE MINISTRY of Labour, Social Affairs and Family will have to resolve many contentious points within the previous government's pension reform, new Labour Minister Viera Tomanová told journalists on July 7.

Tomanová, a nominee of the socialist Smer party, was speaking shortly after Prime Minister Robert Fico installed her in her new post.

"Specific measures introduced by the ministry will be included in the Cabinet Manifesto, which will be at everyone's disposal within 30 days", she said.

Tomanová added that welfare and social insurance payments and the second (capitalization) pillar of the new pension scheme were the two most sensitive issues at the ministry, the TASR news wire wrote.
