The Bratislava City Gallery (GMB) presents probably the most significant personality of the Czech post-war abstract scene, graphic artist Vladimír Boudník (1924-1968). The exhibition Between Avant-garde and Underground is the most complex presentation of the artist's graphic works from the 1950s and 1960s compiled to date. The display shows his innovative graphic techniques, as well as experiments in photography. Boudník, nicknamed the Gentle Barbarian, is said to have opened a new chapter in the history of arts. The exhibition takes place in Pálffy Palace at Panská 19. It is open daily, except Monday, between 11:00 and 18:00 until September 10. Tickets cost Sk80. For more information, call 02/5443-3627.
