SLOVAKIA's most widely read broadsheet, the daily newspaper Pravda, has been purchased by the British publishing group The Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT), whose publications include The Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and others.
It is not DMGT's first venture in Slovakia. Since 2004 the company has owned the Avízo advertisement newspaper in Slovakia. The following year the group bought Profesia Ltd. via the Hungarian company Lapcom, Hospodárske noviny wrote. The company also runs a popular job server in Slovakia.
Lapcom is Hungary's representative of Northcliffe International, the DMGT division which is said to have bought Pravda.
