BUSINESS IN SHORT

Slovakia offers best business conditions in V4

ACCORDING to a World Bank report entitled Doing Business 2007, Slovakia ranks 36th out of 175 countries ranked according to their business environment.

Slovakia's business environment was judged to be the best among the states of the Visegrad Four, which includes the Czech Republic (52nd), Hungary (66th), and Poland (75th).

The World Bank warned, however, that Slovakia must not rest on its laurels and that it needs to continue reforms if it wants to remain attractive.

Fierce competition among the Visegrad Four states for investors accounted for the fact that Slovakia finished two ranks lower than in a similar report last year.
