AS OF the end of September this year, 56,328 new passenger cars and small utility vehicles had been registered in Slovakia, a rise of nine percent year-on-year, police data show.
"If this trend continues, we could reach around 72,000 new cars this year. However, Slovakia will remain at the bottom of the list of EU countries with the fewest cars per 1,000 inhabitants," said Mária Nováková from the Automotive Industry Association.
Škoda remains the most popular new car brand in Slovakia with a market share of 26.9 percent, followed by Volkswagen with 8.72 percent and Peugeot with 6.99 percent.
