TWO candidates from Slovakia are among the 51 nominees competing for the title of the best business region in Europe in a competition called the European Enterprise Awards.
According to Branislav Slyško of the European Commission, representation in Slovakia informed him that the two candidates are the villages of Kechnec and Slovenský Grob.
Kechnec was chosen for its industrial park, which has attracted foreign companies into new industrial halls and in a relatively short time has helped create 30,000 jobs.
Slovenský Grob was praised for its promotion of goose dishes. More than 400 regional and local authorities participated in the national round of the European Enterprise Awards. The 28 countries participating in the competition selected 51 candidates in a total of six categories. The winners will be announced on December 7 in Brussels, the SITA news agency wrote.
