MIKULÁŠ Dzurinda, Slovakia’s former PM and the leader of the opposition Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ), will again run for the post of party chairman at an upcoming party congress on November 17.
“I want to take our political party to success in the next parliamentary elections," Dzurinda said.
At the same time, Dzurinda denied information that he had received an offer of the post of high EU representative for common foreign and security policy.
The Austrian daily Kurier recently reported that Dzurinda was being considered as a replacement for the current “EU foreign minister”, Javier Solana. According to Dzurinda, the report is untrue, the Pravda daily wrote.
