Political ambassadors quit at request of Foreign Ministry

THE FOUR Slovak ambassadors who are to lose their posts due to the fact they were political nominees of the previous government include Alojz Mészáros (Sweden, nominated by the Hungarian Coalition Party, SMK), Viktor Bauer (Turkey, SMK), Dagmar Babčanová (Vatican, Christian Democratic Movement, KDH), and Ladislav Ballek (Czech Republic, former Democratic Left Party).

Former Slovak Deputy Foreign Minister József Berényi of the SMK confirmed the names following a meeting of the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee on November 23.
