New deputy agriculture minister takes post

AT ITS session on January 17, the Slovak cabinet officially appointed Vladimír Palša as deputy agriculture minister.

Palša replaces Marián Záhumenský (Smer), who stepped down on October 31 last year following a conflict of interest scandal in which his tobacco company obtained an additional Sk4 million in subsidies after Záhumenský himself approved a tobacco subsidy rule change.
