Eurostat: Slovak jobless rate at 12 percent in December

A SURVEY by Eurostat, the European Union's Statistical Office, put the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Slovakia at 12 percent in December, down 0.3 percentage points from November.

Slovakia still reports the second highest jobless rate among EU countries after Poland (12.8 percent).

The jobless rate in the remaining EU countries was below 8.7 percent in December. The average seasonally adjusted unemployment rate across the EU was 7.8 percent.

The lowest unemployment rate, 3.2 percent, was recorded in Denmark, followed by the Netherlands with 3.6 percent.
