Ski resorts continue to offer good skiing conditions. photo: Roman Milan archive |
Truly excellent winter weather will probably not arrive this season, so skiers will have to get used to wet snow, which is usually more common in the spring. The forecast for the upcoming week shows unpredictable cloudy, rainy weather. Snow levels will only increase at altitudes above 1,200 metres.
A freestyle barmen's competition and dance shows are among the fun awaiting visitors in Veľká Rača on February 24 at the Becherovka Ski Show. In Jasná, visitors can catch a "pheasant" in snow competitions sponsored by Zlatý Bažant (Golden Pheasant) beer. Thrill seekers can go to Donovaly to try racing on snow scooters. Wellness packages have started to become part of the winter season in Slovakia as well, so after a day on the slope, try relaxing in Aquapark Tatralandia or in Thermal Park Bešeňová in the Liptov region. Skiers in the High Tatras should go to Poprad to enjoy relaxing in the local aquapark there.
