Trial of alleged Mafia boss reaches final stage

At the Košice regional court, the trial of Košice's alleged underworld boss, Dušan B., and his accomplice Jozef T. will enter its final phase today, March 15, when the court will hear the final pleas and deliver its verdict.

The Supreme Court of The Slovak Republic called for the case to be re-opened after the accused appealed against their December 2004 verdict, where they were sentenced to 15 and 11 years respectively for the murder of Karol K. and Vladimir V., the armed robbery of a truck in the Czech Republic and other criminal acts.
