Slovakia will support EU in Kosovo debate

Slovakia's representative to the UN, Peter Burian, said that Slovakia would support the EU's stance on Kosovo during a discussion with the UN Security Council on April 3.

In his address, Burian said that Slovakia fully supports the UN's envoy to Kosovo Martti Ahtisaari's efforts and his suggestions and recommendations, but added that it was crucial that the solution to the situation in Kosovo would not be taken as a legal precedent. He expressed his concern especially in regards to territorial integrity in regions where minority rights issues have been a problem.
