MP László Gyurovszký of the Hungarian Coalition Party (SMK) gave up his mandate on April 12. He will be replaced by György Juhász.
Gyurovszký informed SMK caucus chairman Guyla Bárdos of his decision on April 11. Bárdos added that Gyurovszký will remain a municipal MP and chairman of the SMK local branch in Šaľa in the Nitra Region. His resignation was "a reaction to the (leadership) decision of the SMK congress in March," Bárdos said.
Shortly after Pál Csáky was elected SMK chairman, Gyurovszký announced that he wouldn't be a candidate for any function in the party's leadership.
Speaker of the Slovak Parliament, Pavol Paška, on April 12 officially accepted SMK MP Gyurovszký's written resignation.
