HZDS members think Veteška should replace Mečiar

The party conferences of two district organizations of the ruling Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) decided that their candidate for the party’s top post will be deputy chairman Viliam Veteška.

It is the first time Vladimír Mečiar, the party’s founder and head since 1991, will have a challenger in the leadership race.
