HZDS Presidium supports Mečiar's bid for re-election

The ruling coalition Movement for a Democratic Slovakia's (HZDS) party presidium in Banská Bystrica has advised delegates who will go to the HZDS national congress in Nitra on June 9 to support incumbent party chairman Vladimír Mečiar instead of his opponent for the chairman's post, Viliam Veteška.

"As far as I know, out of the 84 participants, only two were against Meciar's nomination, while two abstained from voting," said HZDS MEP Sergej Kozlík.
