SPP will not raise prices for households yet

Gas utility SPP is not considering changing natural gas prices for households this year, even though the price of Brent crude oil - which enters the formula for the calculation of natural gas price - has been growing since the beginning of the year.

"We do not assume changes of natural gas prices during the year, as long as market conditions remain relatively stable, of course," SPP spokeswomen Dana Kršáková told the SITA newswire on July 13. "Prices of natural gas are assessed from a long-term perspective and the current growth of crude oil prices is to a certain extent compensated by strengthening of the Slovak crown in recent days."
