Army helicopter joins firefighters in Slovak Paradise

An army helicopter has joined in efforts to extinguish a forest fire between Sokol and Koč mountains in the Slovenský raj (Slovak Paradise) mountain range.

Defense Ministry spokesperson Soňa Baniarová said firefighters and rescue corps requested help from the army.

The fire broke out on Sunday afternoon near Hrabušice in Spišská Nová Ves district in the Košice region. Firefighters from both Spišskaá Nová Ves and Poprad continue to battling the blaze with water bags and shovels.
