Stats: Unemployment falls to 11.1 percent in 2Q07

The average unemployment rate in Slovakia fell by 2.4 percentage points year-on-year in 2Q07 to 11.1 percent, the Slovak Statistics Office reported on September 4. This means the number of unemployed has fallen by 65,900 to 291,200.

In 1H07, the unemployment rate fell by 2.9 percentage points to 11.3 percent. According to the stats, the greatest decrease was among the long-term unemployed, which fell by 58,400 to 207,400, representing a 71.2-percent share of the unemployment figures. TASR
