Slovakia enjoys lowest petrol prices around, without tax

Slovakia has the lowest gas prices in the region when tax is excluded, and the ninth-lowest in the EU in this measure.

The least expensive petrol in the European Union can be bought in Estonia, for about four eurocents per litre less than in Slovakia, according to Tomáš Novotný of the Natankuj.sk news website, citing figures published by the European Commission on October 29.

But when tax is included, Slovakia has the most expensive diesel in the region - with prices around five eurocents per litre higher than its neighbours. Petrol prices are lower in the Czech Republic and Hungary in this measure.
