Slovak rail cargo could work with Czechs

RAILWAY cargo company Železničná Spoločnosť Cargo Slovakia (ŽSSK Cargo) could work more closely with its Czech partner, ČD Cargo, in the future.

"Closer cooperation with the Czech partner is being considered as part of the strategic development plans of ŽSSK Cargo," Transportation Ministry spokesman Marián Janošík told the SITA newswire on October 25. "Because several possibilities are being analysed, it would be premature to specify at this time what kind of cooperation it would be."

The Czech government has proposed closer cooperation with ŽSSK Cargo Slovakia about one month before ČD Cargo is launched, the Hospodárske Noviny daily wrote. ČD Cargo is to be established through separating cargo transport from the Czech railway company, České Dráhy, in early December.

"Do ľava," (to the left) I yelled, "Nie, do prava" (no, to the right), I gasped. "Dolšie," I screamed. "Nie, nie, horšie..." My Slovak girlfriend collapsed in laughter. Was it something I said?
