Swedish Exhibition for the Disabled

The Consulate General of Sweden will open an exhibition entitled Design For Every Body. Swedish designers who try to make the lives of disabled people as active and independent as possible will exhibit ergonomic aids and various kinds of assistance for the disabled. Exhibition opens at 17:00 on Tuesday, March 6 at Esterházyho Palace of the Slovenská národná galéria (Slovak National Gallery) on Námestie Ľudovíta Štúra 4. Open daily except Mon 10:00-18:00. French and Austrian Institute Lecture

The Austrian Culture Centre in cooperation with the French Institute, invite you to a lecture entitled "Borders: Conceptual and Space Changes, Examples in Europe" by French Jean-Pierre Renard. Renard is an expert on border geography, author of several books and scientific director of the magazine Hommes et Terres du Nord (People and Lands of the North). The lecture, which is a part of the 1001 Europe series, will begin at 17:00 on Monday, March 5 in the Auditorium room at Comenius University's Právnická fakulta (Law Faculty) of on Šafárikovo námestie 6. Austrian Embassy Exhibitions

The Austrian Embassy in Bratislava will hold a lecture entitled "Franz Schubert in Music-Therapy" by Zuzana Vitálová from Bratislava. Vitálová, a doctor, musicologist and author of several music-therapy books, will discuss the psychosomatic effects that Schubert's music has on patients of all ages. Starts at 18:00 on Thursday, March 8 at Mozartova sieň (Mozart Hall) of the Austrian Embassy on Ventúrska 10. Tel: 5441 8507.
The Austrian Culture Institute is holding an exhibition of six Weinviertel region artists as well as six artists from Slovakia's Záhorie region, entitled From One And The Other Side featuring paintings, graphics, photographs, plastics and ceramics influenced by the land, environment and mutual ties. Exhibition runs at the Austrian Culture Centre on Zelená 7 and till the end of March. Tel: 5443 2985.
A photo exhibition entitled Vergessener Völker Müdigkeiten (Tiredness of Forgotten Nations) features photographs of Jewish cemeteries taken by Austrian artists Christoph Lingg and Susanne Schaber. Exhibition runs till March 10 in Múzeum židovskej kultúry (Museum of Jewish Culture) on Židovská 17 and in Mozart Hall of the Austrian Embassy on Ventúrska 10. Tel: 5441 8507.


French Institute Exhibition

The French Institute's photo exhibition The Most Beautiful Day of My Youth is a selection of snapshots taken by 2000 young people from 20 different countries with disposable cameras on the Youth Holiday organised by Bernard Faucon. Goethe Institute Presentation and Exhibitions

The Goethe Institute in Bratislava is holding an exhibition of German architect Hans Michael Földeak entitled Projekt für Pressburg (Project for Bratislava) - Pribinova street 2002-2010. The exhibition runs at the Gallery of Spolok architektov Slovenska (Union of Slovak Architects) on Panská 15. Exhibition runs till March 24. Tel: 5443 3130.
The German Culture Institute presents the works of German graphic artist Albrecht Dürer. The exhibition features Dürer's famous xylographs and copperplates as well as works of his contemporaries. Runs till March 18 at Mirbachov Palace on Františkánske námestie 11. Tel: 5443 3130.
Also, the Goethe Institute is hosting a photo exhibition of Slovak Jana Vasiliaková's work entitled 'Photography', displaying photographs taken during her wanderings in nature. Runs at the Goethe Institute on Panenská 33 till March 12. Tel: 5443 3130.
