Bahá'í Choir to perform in Bratislava

Voices of Bahá, an internationally renowned choir of 100 Americans and 50 Europeans, and the Slovak Radio Symphonic Orchestra will perform music ranging from classical choir pieces to gospel and ethnic world-music.
The concert begins at 19:00 on Monday, June 25 at Koncertná sieň Slovenského rozhlasu (Slovak Radio Concert Hall - the upside down pyramid) in Bratislava at Mýtna 1. Tickets cost 50 Sk. Tel: 6477 9611, or check out the web-site: www.bahai.sk.


Art Film Festival in Trenčianske Teplice

The ninth annual Art Film Trenčianske Teplice, an international film festival held in Slovakia, takes place in the western spa town of Trenčianske Teplice from June 22 to June 29. During the eight-day movie marathon, 135 movies from around the world will be screened.
Films will be shown daily in Trenčianske Teplice (near Trenčín) at the cinemas Prameň, Kúpeľná dvorana and Videoprojekcia; in Trenčín at cinema Metro (starting times at 17:00 and 19:00); and at Kino Tatra in Bratislava (15:30, 18:00 and 20:30). Austrian Culture Forum

Kurt Schaefer from Pressbaum, Austria will hold a lecture on historical boats of the Danube, accompanied by a slide projection, at 18:00 on Monday, June 25 at Mozart Hall of the Austrian Embassy at Ventúrska 10. Tel: 5443 2985.

Goethe Institute photo exhibition

An exhibition of the works of German photographer Thomas Florschuetz entitled Fragments of Me, by Myself will run at the Goethe Institute in Bratislava on Panenská 33 till July 20. Tel: 5443 3130-2.


French Institute concert and exhibition

The French chamber orchestra Albrecht Collegium will hold "Concert Spirituel 1775" (Spiritual Concert 1775), which consists of two quartets composed between 1773 and 1775. The event begins at 18:00 on Tuesday, June 26 at the French Institute's Gallery on Sedlárska 7. Tel: 5934 7777.
Une histoire de la bande dessinée en France (The History of Comics in France) presents various forms of comic strips and the changes they have undergone in French history. The exhibition first introduces visitors to the father of French comics Rodolph Topffer, then showcases works by contemporary artists. At the French Institute's Gallery on Sedlárska 7. Classical Concert at Zichy Palace

The Bratislava Academic Choir will sing works by composers such as Italian opera master Giuseppe Verdi at 18:00 on Monday, June 25. At the Zichyho palác courtyard (or in the concert hall in case of poor weather) on Ventúrska 9. Tickets cost 50 Sk.


Czech 'textile artist' exhibition

Alžbeta Burianová, a Czech 'textile' artist, will hold her first exhibition in Bratislava. Burianová, who studied shoe and fashion design, will exhibit hand-woven art based on the themes of fire, water, earth and air. Exhibition runs daily except Mon 10:00-18:00 in Galéria SPP on Drevená 4 till July 8. Tel: 5441 6103.
