Telephone area codes changed as of July 1

Slovak Telecom changed the country's telephone area codes as of July 1. The existing 82 codes will be replaced with 25 new codes, meaning that some calls which previously would have been long-distance will now be charged as local calls.

Telephone number prefixes for mobile phones (0901, 0903, 0904, 0905, and 0907) will not change. Fixed phone line numbers in Bratislava have eight digits, while the rest of the country has seven.
