Lapuník moves into hot-seat at state gas company

At its first sitting as the head of a newly-formed joint stock company, the supervisory board of the SPP state gas utility appointed Miroslav Lapuník to direct the firm in place of Pavol Kinčeš, who in June became involved in a scandal over housing.

Kinčeš was not immediately removed from his position over the scandal, but Economy Minister Ľubomír Harach last month proposed a new board for SPP which did not include Kinčeš.

He said it had been the best solution to the problem of the scandal.
