Siemens eastern Slovakia expansion to create new jobs

German firm Siemens has promised to create 2,000 new jobs in eastern Slovakia after securing what it says is a lucrative (24 billion Slovak crown) contract from auto giant Ford to make cables for its Fiesta and Ka models. Unemployment in the two regions of eastern Slovakia, Košice and Prešov, hovers around 25%.
