Mobile operator EuroTel sees rise in profits, customers

Mobile provider EuroTel recorded a gross profit of 617 million crowns in the second quarter of 2001, up over 25% against the same period last year; the firm had 665,000 customers at the end of June, up 84% year-on-year.

The company has said that it expects the Slovak mobile phone market to continue to grow rapidly this year. EuroTel has only one competitor, France Telecom-owned Globtel, whose customer numbers are slightly higher than that of its rival.
