An employees' union at the state-run television channel, STV, held a protest September 4 at the 450 job cuts announced by station management in line with the results of a cabinet-ordered audit last year.
The audit, performed by Deloitte & Touche, recommended that STV cut staff in order to become more efficient, advice the government passed on to STV management in the form of a directive to cut staff. The station has not yet set a date for the dismissals.
