Slovak borders slowly tightening

The Interior Ministry and secret service have been tasked by the cabinet with tightening Slovakia’s border with Ukraine in the event of a wave of migration from Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister for Integration, Mária Kadlečiková, said the European Union had been pressuring the Czech Republic to end its visa-free border relations with Slovakia in order to stem the tide of illegal migration; however, she said, these measures should not affect Slovak or Czech nationals.
