Racial motive for beating identified

Police in the western Slovak town of Prievidza have identified the main culprit in the weekend beating of a local Roma youth. Miroslav B, 26 and unemployed, reportedly told police that “I am a skinhead and I hate gypsies”. His victim, Marek Baláž, 20, suffered a concussion and fractures on Sunday after being hit with an iron rod and kicked by a group of 20 skinheads.
