EU approves funds for Spiš industrial park

An industrial park project for wood processing firms in eastern Slovakia's Spišská Nová Ves has been approved by an EU committee in Brussels, which has awarded the park a 2 million euro grant. The park should provide 800 to 1,000 new jobs.

Slovakia has one industrial park operating at present, in Vráble, western Slovakia. Another in Lozorno, built for the auto giant VW Slovakia, is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
