The American Chamber of Commerce invites you to a breakfast with Senator William V. Roth Jr. and government relations expert Reed Smith. The men will discuss Slovakia's transformation and the relationship between its private and government sectors. Latin-American dance party

Fiesta Latina with Miguel Mendez, a Latin dance party, will open with a performance by dance group Latino Flash and continue with a Latin-American disco show. Oil paintings by Spaniard Alfredo García Andrés reveal Slovakia through foreign eyes. The exhibition (open daily except Sun 12:00-18:00) runs at Gallery Z in Zichyho Palác, Ventúrska 9, until October 28.


1001 Europe lecture series in Bratislava

Austrian Embassy Exhibitions and jazz concert

An exhibition of watercolours by avant-garde painter Gerald Brettschuh will open 18:00 October 9 at Dom umenia (Culture Centre) on nábrežie Ivana Krasku in the western spa town Piešťany. Runs until November 6.
Und Ich Sah... (And I Saw...) is a photographic exhibition of medieval basilicas in the Austrian Seckau region. Runs at the Austrian Embassy, Ventúrska 10, until November 2. Tel: 02/5443-2985.


Jazz under Trenčín castle

A festival in western Slovakia's Trenčín brings Slovak jazzmen and foreign jazz legends together in a series of concerts, running from October 11 to October 13. The Slovak bands, After Tea Trio, Fuse Jazz, Bass Friends and the Henry Tóth Big Band and the Hungarian Brink Man Ship, Swedish Findin/Backman Quartet, Polish Chromosomos, Czech Esp and Austrian Bucktet from Graz will perform at Trenčín's Hviezda cinema.
