Reader Feedback: Easterners a joy

Chris, I couldn't agree more! ["Culture shock: In praise of easterners" by Chris Togneri Vol. 7 No. 38 October 8 - 14]. We found the same scenario in every camp site we stayed at from Banska Bystrica, to the Tatras, to Košice.

One example - the camp site listed in our British camp guide to Slovakia no longer existed - we were getting a bit panic stricken, as we didn't want to sleep overnight by the road side in our caravette.

A young couple out walking offered us accommodation at their house - complete strangers! We couldn't believe their hospitality. The area was west of Košice.
