EU warns Slovakia to tighten Ukraine border

Members of the joint EU-Slovakia committee, visiting Slovakia’s eastern border area with Ukraine yesterday, said Slovakia had to tighten its border patrols to protect against both illegal migration and the movement of terrorists. Committee member Peter Weiss said he estimated it would require a Sk500 million ($1.05 million) investment to equip border police with sufficient staff and equipment.
