Parliament yesterday approved a Law on Financial Controls and Internal Audits which will allow for financial checks on public spending as well as controls on the spending of EU funds; the law had been a key requirement for Slovakia meeting its EU financial sector requirements and receiving the 15 million euro which was temporarily frozen by the EU earlier this month.
