Waste spill left unattended

Tens of litres of various cancerous poisons were left lying at a wild waste dump in Golianovo for about two weeks, the Slovak daily paper Sme reported October 13.

An anonymous person reported to the Nitra regional office's environmental department October 11 that several containers with the dangerous contents had been thrown out at the dump. The employees alerted local police and fire fighters who closed the waste dump and removed the poisons that same night.
