Dzurinda proposes new coalition

Prime Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda, speaking at a weekend congress of his SDKÚ party, said he wanted to unite all centre-right parties in Slovakia to fight elections next September.

The proposal has met little interest from possible coalition partners, who say the electorate has not been properly prepared for such a move.
