Schmögnerová beats back MPs

Finance Minister Brigita Schmognerová has aggressively defended her proposal that state funds distributing taxpayer money in non-transparent ways be eliminated, as envisaged by the 2002 state budget draft. Speaking on October 30 she told dissenting legislators: "You are wringing your hands in vain, my dear MPs, because I have arguments on my side, and you apart from wringing your hands have nothing."
