Lord Robertson: Slovaks should keep eyes open

Nato Secretary General George Robertson, who visits Slovakia today, said Slovaks should have “open eyes” when they vote in September 2002 elections, and be mindful of the high democratic standards Nato sets for member countries. He refused to say directly whether the election of former Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar to power would hurt the country’s membership chances.
