IMF report gets support

Deputy Prime Minister for Economy Ivan Mikloš and central bank governor Marián Jusko have agreed with an International Monetary Fund report urging Slovakia to keep a tight monetary policy and curb its twin deficits.

The international lending body has recommended the central bank "wait and see" how the growing trade deficit develops before considering dropping interest rates.
