Bank sector profit hits Sk11.8 billion

The banking sector recorded a profit of Sk11.8 billion in the first nine months of the year with net assets of Sk879 billion and loans extended of Sk194 billion.

The return to health comes after the government cut out about Sk100 billion in bad loans from three major state banks in 2000. It has since privatised all three to foreign investors.
