WTO praises more open market

Slovakia has a fully functioning market economy and is gradually integrating into the world market, the World Trade Organisation (WTO) secretariat has said.

In a statement released after a session in Geneva to evaluate the implementation of Slovak trade policy, the WTO praised Slovak progress in market liberalisation, lowering duties, opening the economy and the low number of trade barriers given the country's high unemployment rate of 18%.
